So the book that a few of my flash fiction pieces are featured in, Six Sentences: Volume 1 is available on Amazon.com right now.

It's thirty freaking dollars. I can't even afford it right now, because I'm a college kid. But I'll buy it hopefully next week and show everyone my little name printed (hopefully neatly) on the pages. :-)

I'm happy. May this be the first of many times I get to have this experience. Good Lord willing (and the creek don't rise).

But, shoot. I don't even think I'm worth $30! That's a liiiitle ridiculous to me.

My friend Desireé (aka libragoddess04) is an amazing artist. You can view some of her work here. She's currently working on a piece using real people, while these people wake up in the hours between 2-5 am, and take a walk around their neighborhoods. While they walk they speak stream-of-conciousness thoughts. It's a beautiful project (you can view the transcripts/videos of people who have already participated by clicking on the link below).

A little birdie told me that to have your thoughts shared with her art class, you'll need to participate sometime in the next week. You can do it by phone! How easy is that?

Here's the information. I'm not putting it under a cut, because I think it's too awesome of a project to have people ignore.

I. Set alarm for an hour between 2 - 5AM
II. Awake, dress, grab cell phone & number w/ validation code
III. Walk details such as location, distance, & duration are decided by the participant

V. Say your name, where you are calling from, and then speak your stream of conscious
into the phone, mentioning any/all provoked thoughts, fears, & prompted memories.

SAFTY WARNING – Please take caution if walking alone at late hours and participate responsibly.

After hearing Desireé talk, click the 'forward' button on the little media player until you hear "Hello, my name is Christen Buckler..." When you're done listening to THAT, click on the 'back' button, because I called back. :-)
